Thanksgiving is upon us! Whether you’re celebrating the holiday on the Outer Banks or at home, it’s easy to bring a taste of the OBX to your turkey day table!
With the prices of Thanksgiving meals rising this year, why not choose an affordable (free, actually!) option for your holiday tablescape? We’ve rounded up some of our favorite pieces from the shores of the Outer Banks to create a beautiful and unique setting that also doubles as a conversation piece, so the family can reminisce on vacations of years past, and even start planning next year’s getaway!
This simple project only takes a few steps.
Gather all your favorite shells and sea glass in 3 or 4 jars or vases of varying shapes and sizes and stagger them on the table.
Filling another 2 or 3 vases with sand, a couple of small shells, and a tea light is an easy way to add some creative ambiance to the setting. If you have a couple of other candle holders handy, throw them in to create some definition.
A piece of driftwood in the center will complete the look while helping add a little bit of texture.
For the place tags, write your guests’ names on the inside of oyster or scallop shells with a paint pen or sharpie. A little greenery from the backyard will give them a holiday feel!
We can’t wait to see what you come up with! Show us your OBX-themed tablescapes by tagging us on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. Wishing you a safe, happy, and beachy Thanksgiving from Sun Realty!
