Duck Jazz Festival
The Town of Duck will host an array of talented individuals for this year's Duck Jazz Festival. Both local and national musicians will share the stage on Sunday, October 12th. Gates will open to the public at 10am. See full event schedule and artist details below.
About The Artists
René Marie is a powerhouse vocalist with a flair for entertaining her audience. Her style incorporates a distinctly American mélange of jazz, soul, blues, folk and gospel and an innate theatrical ability to interpret a song deeply and live its truth. Virginia native René Marie will show Duck Jazz Festival goers why she has won over critics in the jazz world, and will be performing her latest project I Wanna Be Evil (With Love to Eartha Kitt). Connected, formerly known as Jazz Connection of Elizabeth City, NC,was founded by Wayne James. Connected has been both blessed and fortunate to feature many great musicians of the Albemarle Area. Current members include: Dennis Figgs on piano and keyboards, Wayne James on trumpet Steve Raisor on bass and rhythm guitar, David Credle on rhythm and lead guitar, CJ Mercer on bass, Joshua Swain “aka” Dante Funkmaster on bass, Chris Bittner on tenor saxophone, Ellard Forrester on drums and percussion, Andrea Morris and Jackie Boyce on vocals.
