Head out to the Wright Brothers National Memorial in Kill Devil Hills this weekend for the 32nd Annual Wright Kite Festival. Admission to the memorial is $4 for adults and free to children 16 and under. All festival activities are free. The festival will be held on Saturday, July 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sunday, July 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in celebration of the history of aviation. Large kite displays will dazzle festival goers from the top of the Wright Brothers Memorial. Kitty Hawk Kites will be on hand with free kite making, kite demos, and stunt and power kite lessons. Kite making starts at 11 a.m. on each day of the festival. Families are encouraged to bring their own kites to fly and participate in the festival. Check out seasoned kite professionals navigate the winds of the Outer Banks. It’s a sight to see for the whole family.
