The second annual Flying Pirate Half Marathon is set for Sunday, April 10 at 7:20 a.m. More than 2,000 runners and walkers will start the trek on the Woods Road in Kitty Hawk and finish behind the Outer Banks Family YMCA in Nags Head.
After the success of the inaugural event, more fun is in store for the half marathon, including a race expo at Comfort Inn North Oceanfront Friday in Kill Devil Hills, a First Flight 5K Saturday at the Wright Brothers National Memorial and a post-race half marathon party at Pirate’s Quay shopping center, next to the YMCA.
Runners are still invited to enter the Flying Pirate Half Marathon. The entry fee is $75 online (at the Flying Pirate Half Marathon website) until Wednesday, April 6, and then $80 if you register at the expo. Sun Realty welcomes all half marathoners to the Outer Banks this weekend!
